Sexual Harassment, Workplace Harassment and Violence at Work: The Ineffectiveness of Previous Regulations and the New Challenges of the Karin Law

Abstract
This essay describes and analyzes the regulations on harassment and violence at work, both in the public and private sectors in Chile, focusing on Law No. 20,005 on sexual harassment, Law No. 20,607 on workplace harassment and the Law No. 21,643, better known as the Karin law, which modified previous laws and proposed a new compliance standard. Additionally, a theoretical framework is synthesized for its understanding based on people and institutions experts in the matter and the results of the normative application are presented, that is, statistics that allow observing its evolution in addressing the phenomenon under study. Finally, conclusions and recommendations are reached with the perspective of improving the protection of workers, particularly women, to guarantee a respectful and safe work environment in Chile.
