Policy on Preprints and Digital Preservation
Preprints
Revista Enfoques accepts the submission of manuscripts that have been previously deposited in open access preprint servers. Prior deposit is not considered publication and does not affect either the review process or the editorial decision.
Authors must declare:
- the existence of the preprint at the time of submission
- the repository in which it is available
Once the article has been published, authors are requested to update the preprint record with the DOI and final reference.
Digital preservation
Revista Enfoques: Ciencia Política y Administración Pública ensures the preservation and permanent access to its published contents. Preservation covers articles, complete issues, and the associated metadata.
The journal implements the following measures:
- use of the OJS 3.5 platform, which incorporates editorial management tools
- implementation of the OAI-PMH protocol to enable metadata harvesting by external repositories and indexers
- assignment of DOIs to ensure the persistent identification and linking of articles
- preservation of metadata in interoperable standards available in OJS
- publication of contents in PDF and HTML formats, suitable for online reading and download
The journal participates in distributed preservation systems through LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), which enables collaborating libraries to create permanent copies of the contents for preservation and potential restoration.
Likewise, the journal is available for future integration into other digital preservation networks (for example, the PKP Preservation Network), in accordance with the corresponding technical and administrative requirements.
Published issues constitute the permanent archive of the journal. Articles are not deleted; where appropriate, corrections, errata, or retractions are issued, maintaining the historical record of the publication.
