Double-Blind Peer Review
Peer Review Process
Authors of articles must consider the following editorial procedure:
- Authors must read, agree with, and comply with the Code of Ethics of Revista Enfoques: Ciencia Política y Administración Pública (RECPyAP).
- Original articles will be accepted, preferably those resulting from recent research projects (within the last two years).
- A research project is understood as one that has the sponsorship and/or support of a public and/or private institution.
- The article may not be submitted simultaneously to another editorial review process.
- The article should preferably be written in Spanish, with the title, abstract, and keywords in both Spanish and English.
- The reception of articles (theoretical and/or empirical) and/or reviews is open throughout the year, except in February.
- Once the online platform confirms that your submission has been successfully uploaded, the editorial team will inform you whether the manuscript is admissible or rejected on formal grounds.
- If the article is deemed admissible, the author(s) may track the outcome of the double-blind peer review through the online platform. Double-blind peer review implies mutual anonymity among the parties involved, that is, between reviewers and authors.
- The peer review process considers: the coherence of the structure with the title of the work and adherence to the scientific method; the relevance and currency of the bibliographic sources consulted; the consistency between the content and abstract of the article; the ability to draw inferences, relationships, and connections from the information and to formulate conclusions; appropriate writing and spelling in the respective language; the originality of the work; and its significance for the development of the disciplines covered by the journal (see review guidelines).
- Once the review process has been completed, the author will be informed whether the article has been accepted outright, accepted subject to major/minor revisions, or rejected (without appeal).
- In the case of acceptance subject to major/minor revisions, the author(s) must promptly implement the changes requested by the reviewers.
- As a condition for publication, the author(s) must grant Revista Enfoques a non-exclusive license for reproduction rights. To this end, they must state this in the cover letter, after which they will be asked to complete a form with their details and sign a non-exclusive rights transfer agreement that will be sent electronically to the Editorial Coordination.
- Revista Enfoques authorizes the reproduction of published works provided that the source is duly cited.
- The editorial team may modify these author guidelines without prior notice.
