Abstract
Comentaremos diversos fenómenos concretos de corrupción que afectaron a sistemas políticos europeos, asumiendo que importa una transgresión tanto de normas legales como de principios éticos de parte de quienes participan en una transacción ilícita o de quienes, abusando de sus funciones públicas, las usan en su beneficio para lograr una ganancia personal que no es necesariamente monetaria.
Los casos de corrupción que se conocieron en Europa en la década de los ochenta y noventa impactaron fuertemente sobre el sistema político o al menos sobre la permanencia en el poder de los gobiernos. Nos interesa analizar brevemente estos casos porque su ocurrencia echa por tierra algunas tesis sobre la corrupción"¦
