Abstract
En el presente artículo se resalta el importante rol que tiene el Estado en la generación de políticas eficientes que tiendan al desarrollo de Chile, en la que recoge y analiza una serie de discusiones, nacionales e internacionales, respecto del modelo económico aplicado hasta el momento en Chile y sus posibles cambios o modificaciones; la organización, estructuración y tamaño del Estado chileno, en función de las demandas globales e internas que actualmente enfrenta; los desafíos impostergables en educación y salud; el desempleo y las reformas laborales necesarias para enfrentarlo; las exigencias ciudadanas para enfrentar la delincuencia y asegurar la seguridad ciudadana, como también exigencias para mejorar y/o ampliar el proceso de descentralización del país.
