Algunas consideraciones en torno al neoliberalismo, al desarrollo económico y la democracia

Abstract
En palabras del autor, el neoliberalismo posterior es el único enfoque viable para lograr el desarrollo y consolidación democrática, y al mismo tiempo, ideologías como el socialismo, el comunismo o la práctica del populismo, conducirán inevitablemente a inestabilidad. Para demostrar esto, el presente trabajo realiza una revisión al concepto de liberalismo, su relación con la democracia, el desarrollo y el Estado de derecho analizando en forma general el caso de América Latina y en particular el caso de Venezuela. El artículo sostiene que el desarrollo económico de la región no es sostenido en el tiempo se desconfía de la libertad y no se respeta el estado de derecho. Esto hace que los países latinoamericanos estén constantemente expuestos a líderes con pretensiones hegemónicas y una constante debilidad institucional.
