Los efectos de la gobernabilidad sobre la distribución del ingreso

Abstract
Este documento busca mostrar la relación existente entre la distribución del ingreso medida por el coeficiente de Gini y los indicadores de gobernabilidad propuestos por el Banco Mundial para determinar un "Buen Gobierno". Se hace una revisión bibliográfica para identificar y definir las variables relevantes, para luego proceder a aplicar un modelo de regresión lineal múltiple con datos de 2008 de 133 países. Los resultados obtenidos evidencian que variables de gobernabilidad e índice de libertad económica afectan de diferente forma el coeficiente de Gini, haciendo que solo la presencia de un "Estado de Derecho" contribuya a mejorar la distribución del ingreso en los países analizados. Por otro lado, se comprueba que una mayor libertad económica tiende a acentuar desigualdades distributivas en las sociedades.
